Elston Avenue (Ethiopian)
Why is our Ethiopian blend named Elston Avenue?
While Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood doesn’t have an Ethiopian population it does have Elston Avenue, one of the city’s main arteries, cutting through it. We thought the words Elston Avenue & Ethiopian sounded nice together.
One fifth of Chicago’s 2.7 million are foreign born. That means the nations live in our neighborhoods. Elston Avenue cuts through the city on an angle, starting in the far northwest corner, then running south into the Loop and then continuing onward, connecting diverse and beautiful neighbors from all the nations.
